Graham is the founder of GPT Consult and has worked in healthcare for over 40-years as an Estates Officer, Consulting Engineer and for the past 10-years Authorising Engineer and Technical Adviser specialising in critical ventilation and associated systems. His particular interest and expertise is operating theatre ventilation
Paul Crothers
MSc, MIHEEM, MIET, MSVHSoc
Senior Authorising Engineer
After twelve years in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineering Artificer on nuclear submarines, Paul gained an MSc in Building Services Engineering before working in several roles as a designer, installer, operator and maintainer of various engineering systems and as a Senior Estates Officer within an NHS Trust. After 6 years training APs and AEs, Paul accepted his first Authorising Engineer role in 2012 and worked as an AE for three companies before joining GPT Consult in February 2022
Roy Ridler
Senior Engineering Manager
Roy started his engineering career with an apprenticeship in the Navy, before moving into healthcare. He has worked for the last 35 years in various roles across several NHS Trusts, including Director of Estates & Facilities. Roy has worked for GPT Consult for several years supporting our clients with Ventilation and Pressure Systems, his drive is for good quality maintenance to enable everything to perform as it was intended
Mahesh Mistry

Senior Engineer
Mahesh started his engineering career in the chemical manufacturing industry as an apprentice electrician then progressing into the design and projects office, before moving into building services consultancy and the Police service followed by over 14 years in a busy estates department of an acute NHS hospital overseeing the maintenance and engineering systems as the Assistant Director of Estates before moving to GPT Consult Ltd in 2023. Mahesh has significant experience in design, project management and maintenance.
Louise Clark
BSc., MIHEEM
Technical Director
Louise started her long and distinguished NHS career in Leicestershire before working across numerous roles and trusts around the UK. Louise joined GPT Consult in Q1 2024 from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where she was Associate Director of Engineering. Louise has experience with all aspects of healthcare engineering bringing a unique insight to GPT Consult. Louise’s new position as Technical Director in our expanded team will allow her to support Graham in our varied capital project work, and also out with our clients providing technical advice and as an Authorised Engineer.
Peter Garrett
Specialist Healthcare Ventilation Engineer
Peter started his career in 2014 as a Trainee Ventilation Engineer with Approved Air. During the following 10 years he worked his way up through the company to become a successful Operation’s Manager.
Peter joined GPT Consult in 2024 as a Specialist Health Care Ventilation Engineer. Peter specializes in both verification and validation of ventilation systems within Health Care settings

Our team of Authorising Engineers is supported by a wide team. Including partners Carmen Taylor and Sarah Gates, a team of ventilation engineers and back office staff.
Alan Gates
Managing Director
Alan joined GPT Consult in 2021 as our business manager, supporting Graham and the team on a part time basis whilst working in the commercial banking industry. In August 2023 Alan moved to GPT Consult full time and took on the role of Managing Director to drive our continued growth and lead business administration
Peter Taylor LLB
Head of Legal
Peter joined GPT Consult initially as a consultant alongside his work as a solicitor for a large legal firm based in greater London. Since then, Peter has accepted a directorship in business and taken the lead as head of legal supporting with legal guidance around our expert witness work.
